I hate people like him!!! So you married her mom. If you decided to marry someone with a child(ren), it’s your decision, not the child(ren)’s decision. You decided to take on that responsibility. If the reason you took on that responsibility was to get paid back, you don’t deserve to be a parent. That includes biological parents as well. Children do not ask to be born!!!! It is the adults responsibility to provide for that child until they are able to provide for themselves on a regular basis. If they are able to help their parents out at times, that’s all well and good but I don’t think a child is obligated to go through those kinds of things to “pay back” parents. I did for my mom because I loved her, not because I felt obligated to her. I don’t demand my children do things for me because I’m their mom. It’s not right to put that kind of pressure on someone who didn’t have a say whether or not to be born.
